MLT Motorsports Enters 2023 IMSA Battle on The Bricks

Braselton, GA (September 12, 2023) Today, MLT Motorsports announced their entry into the 2023 IMSA Battle on The Bricks race this Sunday, September 17. The team will field the No. 54 Belle Haven Investments/Aufgang Architecture/AdeptID/OwnBackup LMP3 Ligier JS-320 entry with drivers Jason Rabe and Dakota Dickerson. This marks the second IMSA WeatherTech race for the team in 2023, in addition to their full-time entry in IMSA's VP Racing SportsCar Challenge series in an LMP3.

"To race at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a real honor," said team owner Dr. Michael Thompson. "Jason and Dakota make a great duo, and the MLT Motorsports team has demonstrated their dedication and tenacity all season long, so we're looking forward to a good weekend. Watching the No. 54 take the green on Sunday will be a special moment. There's been a lot of history made at Indy, and we're proud to be a small piece of that history."

Indy marks the second time Rabe will appear behind the wheel for MLT Motorsports in 2023. He raced at Watkins Glen earlier this year for an eighth-place finish with co-drivers Stevan McAleer and Andrew "Pinky" Pinkerton.

"This will be the closest I come to my dream of competing in the Indy 500," said Rabe. "I couldn't be happier to have the opportunity to race in this event! This opportunity came from my performance at the Watkins Glen six-hour race, checking all of the boxes during my stint successfully. I cannot thank Belle Haven Investments, Own Backup, AdeptID enough for this very rare opportunity.

"Of course, MLT Motorsports has been an integral part of my last two seasons in IMSA competition. I raced at the inaugural IMS GP during the IndyCar weekend in the Pro Mazda Series back in 2014; we had success in the expert class, finishing on the podium! This IMSA LMP3 race is kind of making this dream of mine- full circle, especially teaming up with the super-talented Dakota Dickerson."

Dickerson will join Rabe, who is no stranger to the MLT Motorsports team.

"I am very excited to rejoin MLT Motorsports in the LMP3 class at Indianapolis within the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship," said Dickerson. "It feels great to be back with the team after the success we have had in the past together, and I can't wait to see what we can do at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The competition is at a very high level, but I'm confident that we will perform to the best of our potential!"

Rabe added, "I'm really stoked that we were able to get Dakota back under the MLT tent for this special Indy race- he deserves each and every one of these opportunities. Dakota has stepped up my game personally as a driver in these cars, and he's already a big part of MLT's success in the LMP3s."

Fans can watch live flag-to-flag coverage this Sunday, September 17th, starting at 1:00 PM ET live on NBC or tune in to IMSA TV. Be sure to follow MLT Motorsports on Instagram @mltmotorsports for live team updates.

About MLT Motorsports:

Founded in 2018 by Dr. Mike Thompson, MLT Motorsports has established itself as a premier team amongst the IMSA paddock in the LMP3 category. Based near Road Atlanta, the team has easy access to some of the best road courses in the country and, importantly, Florida, where the sportscar racing world kicks off every winter at Daytona and Sebring. Constant investment and maintenance have seen the team arrive at each race weekend with top-notch race cars and state-of-the-art equipment.

Early success can be attributed to the hard work and experience the team possesses, as the first win came on their second start at Mid-Ohio in 2019. During the 2021 season, MLT finished off the podium only once on the way to a double championship win, earning the IMSA Prototype Challenge Team's and Driver's Championship with drivers Dakota Dickerson and Josh Sarchet. Parlaying the success of the 2021 Championship, MLT made its IMSA WeatherTech Championship debut at Mid-Ohio in May of 2022, joining the ranks of the best sportscar teams in the world.
