IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship
IMSA’s flagship series competes at 12 of North America’s leading sports car venues. Competition takes place in five classes – Daytona Prototype international, Le Mans Prototype 2, Le Mans Prototype 3, GT Daytona Pro and GT Daytona – and brings together renowned drivers with leading manufacturers for some of the world’s biggest sports car events, such as the Rolex 24 At Daytona and Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
IMSA VP Challenge
IMSA’s Prototype Challenge will become the IMSA VP Challenge starting in 2023. Along with the name change the series will shift format from one 90-minute race to two 45-minute sprint races. With the change to a sprint format each car will only utilize one silver or bronze driver. The final and most stark change will be the introduction of an additional class of car, as GT4 Homologated cars will be added to the grid.
