Jason Rabe to Co-Drive with Adrian Kunzle in MLT Motorsports Lamborghini Super Trofeo Entry

·     Kunzle and Rabe team up for Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America series.

Braselton, GA (March 12, 2024) MLT Motorsports announced today that Jason Rabe will co-drive with Adrian Kunzle in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Entry for the 2024 season. This is one of two entries MLT Motorsports will campaign this season, with the second entry being piloted by Garrett Adams and Luke Berkeley. Both cars are set to run the full schedule beginning with the season opener at Sebring, March 13-26.

"It's great having Jason back with us this season," said Team Owner Dr. Michael Thompson. "He and Adrian have great chemistry together, and while the Lamborghini is new to both of them, we expect they will get up to speed quickly and be right in the mix."

Rabe returns to MLT Motorsports after a busy 2023 season, including racing in an LMP3 for IMSA's Six Hours at the Glen and Battle On The Bricks at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. However, 2024 will mark his first time racing a Lamborghini.

"A new season, a new racecar, a new challenge, I'm excited to be even more versatile," said Rabe. "Since I was a kid, I've always admired those racers who are versatile - AJ, Mario, Gordon, Larson. That seems to be a strong point of mine- adapting to new and different race cars quickly. The biggest focal point will be to learn about and adjust to the Super Trofeo series 'racecraft.'"

The duo of Rabe and Kunzle isn't new. Rabe coached Kunzle in the IMSA VP SportsCar Challenge series last year and has watched Kunzle grow as a driver.

"First off, some really good people in the IMSA paddock put Adrian and I together; I'll never forget that." Rabe continued, "He excelled very quickly and is a student of the sport, understanding all aspects, which makes the communication really good. He's shown quick pace, smart racecraft, and consistency in GT4 and LMP3, so we expect the same thing in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series."

MLT Motorsports is gearing up for the season opener at Sebring, a race Rabe is looking forward to.

"The opening round at Sebring in any IMSA racing series usually provides some excitement," said Rabe. "Sebring is one of the most technical racetracks we go to and an engineer's nightmare on car setup. With the added history- as a driver, it makes it extra special! We're here to contend for the 2024 Am Championship, wins, and podiums. Most importantly, enjoy the time in the IMSA paddock and have fun while doing it! "

About MLT Motorsports:

Founded in 2018 by Dr. Mike Thompson, MLT Motorsports has established itself as a premier team amongst the IMSA paddock in the LMP3 category. Based near Road Atlanta, the team has easy access to some of the best road courses in the country and, importantly, Florida, where the sportscar racing world kicks off every winter at Daytona and Sebring. Constant investment and maintenance have seen the team arrive at each race weekend with top-notch race cars and state-of-the-art equipment.

Early success can be attributed to the hard work and experience the team possesses, as the first win came on their second start at Mid-Ohio in 2019. During the 2021 season, MLT finished off the podium only once on the way to a double championship win, earning the IMSA Prototype Challenge Team’s and Driver’s Championship with drivers Dakota Dickerson and Josh Sarchet. Parlaying the success of the 2021 Championship, MLT made its IMSA WeatherTech Championship debut at Mid-Ohio in May of 2022, joining the ranks of the best sportscar teams in the world.
